Why DST?

Diamond Sports Training knows there are things that all great players do alike.  We call those the “absolutes.” Yet, we also understand that every player is unique and has certain strengths.  Therefore, we strive to take those strengths and combine them with our proven philosophy to make it work for each player. We believe every player that comes through our doors is not only going to improve their skills, but they will leave with a better understanding of the game.

DST has assembled a staff of widely recognized local instructors whose goals are to teach the games of baseball and softball by breaking each component into parts a player can understand and apply.  We believe in not only teaching the “how and what” of the game, but just as important, the “why.”  If a player understands what they should be doing as well as the purpose in doing it, it is proven there is a much greater chance that player will then carry it out.  The player that has the ability to diagnose and fix problems and ultimately make adjustments on their own is the player that will succeed most often.

Sometimes less is more, which is why we keep our player to instructor ratio to no more than 6 to 1 in our clinics or small groups although most clinics are limited to 4 players.  Everything that we do at DST is hands on and very personal.  We believe in fundamentals and mechanics but we do not create robots and we are not a factory.   We keep our clinics small to make sure we give every player the attention they deserve.

At DST, we believe that it isn’t what you have done in the game, it is what you know and how you can communicate it. Although we have a staff with impressive resumes, each of our instructors has a broad range of knowledge and can communicate and relate with kids.
